 Governor of Aden to Yemen blast 6 kills guard

  
Sana'a, Yemen - Yemeni security officials say a huge explosion killed the governor of Aden and six of his bodyguards.

Gov. Jaafar Mohammed Saad Officials say he was traveling to his office Sunday morning in a convoy when the blast occurred in the Rambo area in the southern coastal city. The authorities were investigating the exact cause of the explosion.


The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.Pro-government backed by the coalition forces led by the Saudi forces drove the insurgents Shiites from Aden earlier this year. A local branch of al-Qaida took advantage of the chaos of the conflict in Yemen to the acquisition of territory in the south and east of the country, and has a growing presence in Aden.
