Earthquake Hits In Monipur State of India The earthquake hit a magnitude of 6.8 degrees north-east of India, said the US Geological Survey (USGS), near the border with Myanmar and Bangladesh. The quake occurred at 04:35 local time (23:05 GMT), about 33km (20 miles) north-west of Imphal, capital of Manipur state, according to the US Geological Survey.
